Toga Cox is a freelance Design Director based in Brooklyn with over a decade of experience working in world-class advertising agencies, design studios and design teams.

As a designer, Toga is passionate about creating bold, impactful, and conceptually driven work no matter what form it takes. His creative curiosity has led him to develop a wide range of skills that add depth and breadth to every project. This multi-disciplinary skillset has enabled him to work on various projects, including composing music for indie films, exhibiting art at the Satellite Art Show during Art Basel Miami 2023, designing for award-winning ad campaigns, and having his photography published in The New York Times.

As a member of the Spotify design team, we developed the brand identity for Spotify’s new sub-brand, Spotify for Artists, designed to support artists and creators. Built from the foundation of the existing Spotify brand, the identity was guided by design principles that emphasized being creative, alive, and personal, reflecting the vibrant and dynamic nature of the creator community.

Spotify Burst vs Keyline Burst

A lot of care went into defining art direction style that focuses on highlighting moments of true human connection and emotion, reframing the usual outdoor lens of the lone wolf, to focus more on shared experiences captured in ways that invite the viewer into the frame.
